“Linde believes that hydrocarbon refrigerants are a viable alternative to fluorocarbon products (e.g. HFCs) in a number of refrigeration and air conditioning applications. We are seeing increased demand for these products globally. We are pleased to participate in and support the hydrocarbons21.com platform to help ensure safe and successful growth of these products” said Jon Black, Global Head, Refrigerants Product Management, Linde Gases.

Quality and safety standards of Linde’s refrigerants

Impurities such as moisture can have a significantly negative impact on the efficiency of the refrigerant. Linde therefore ensures that its products and packages meet or exceed the highest quality and safety standards through tight quality controls.

Hydrocarbon refrigerants have different chemical properties to fluorocarbon refrigerants – the primary difference being their flammability. Therefore the handling and use of hydrocarbons requires adequate safety measures. Linde’s highly experienced experts can provide useful advice on how to handle the products in the safest way or guidance on regulatory matters.
