February: The Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association will host the International Tokyo HVAC&R show, on 16 February. The event will feature Japan’s leading HVAC companies who will present their cutting edge design in climate control technology with a special emphasis on environmentally friendly equipment, systems and solutions. This biennial exposition will have many concurrent events including lectures and seminars featuring experts from government and industry discussing new policy and product trends.
March: The “Transforming Technologies” conference in London on 3 March will look at getting the industry up to speed with the new technologies vying to become the mainstream solutions for the future. Among the list of speakers Nicholas Cox of Earthcare Products will hold a presentation and lead a discussion on the developments and opportunities of using hydrocarbon refrigerant blends.
The 37th Mostra expo in Milan will represent 50 years of Italy’s premier HVAC, plumbing and sanitary fittings trade event. It will be held between 23 and 27 March. The “Next Energy” feature is unique to this event. It will look towards highlighting the learning opportunities in the relationship between business and the environment. To this end the success of the 2008 edition confirmed Next Energy capacity to attract the attention of a selected audience of professionals which included installers, building design engineers, architects, builders, engineering firms, facility managers, energy managers, hotel operators, and public authorities.
April: The Gustav Lorentzen conference in Sydney, Australia, to be held 12-14 April, will be a highlight for hydrocarbon professionals. It will feature four well-respected figures of the hydrocarbons world. Alfonso Mauro from the Department of Engineering, Napoli University will present his paper on the preliminary tests about the heat transfer during flow boiling of carbon dioxide and propane blend. Following this, Francesco Vera Technical University of Cartagena, Spain will analyse the use of different heat exchangers in propane heat pumps. Per Henrik Pedersen, representing the Danish Technology Institute, will talk about the Solar-powered direct drive refrigerators with hydrocarbon refrigerants. Safe use of hydrocarbon based chillers and applications will be the focus of Alexander Pachai’s presentation.
October: The year will close with the Chillventa trade exposition in Nuernberg, Germany, in October. Chillventa has already sold more than 70% of its exhibition space. This year’s event promises to be bigger than Chillventa 2008 with over 800 international exhibitors and an expected 29,000 visitors.
