The next IIR biennial conference on Natural Refrigerants will be organised together with the Royal Dutch Association of Refrigeration and the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands between 25 – 27 June 2012. The International Institute of Refrigeration is now accepting abstracts reflecting the latest advancements and developments linked to the application of hydrocarbons and other natural working fluids in different systems. Deadline for the abstracts is 15 October while full papers are due on 24 December 2011.

The prospective programme of the conference will include optional technical tours:

• tour of a combined low temperature/high temperature energy system (e.g. swimming pool/ice rink refrigeration plant);
• tour of a low energy heat pump based greenhouse.

About Gustav Lorentzen

The conference is named in honour of Norwegian Scientist and engineer Gustav Lorentzen who rediscovered how CO₂ could be used as a refrigerant in a simple and efficient way in heating and cooling applications.
